sona android app removed hearing test and custom curves why?
My android phone updated the otofonix app for the sona device and now it no longer supports the hearing test and custom curves like it always used to. It shows version 1.0.6.0 dated 2022-12-19. The Play store still shows the original screenshots of the app as it used to appear with the hearing test screens and custom curves and archive. The new app only has 5 fixed curves with no adjustment. Also the original setting for volume was 80% for normal use. I had to reduce the volume to 20 to get it to stop feedback.
Is the Sona and custom curves no longer supported? This is why I bought the device in the first place years ago.

Thank you so much for reaching out. Over the course of the last year the FDA has set new regulations on OTC (over the counter) hearing devices. One of the stipulations is that the devices cannot have hearing tests on them unless they have a specific certification on it. We are in the process of working on it and it may take some time. For this reason the manufacturer had to remove the hearing test function from its app. We will discuss with the app developer regarding updating the app pictures. I will also speak with the engineers regarding your feedback on the volume and curve settings and get back to you soon on it.
